Own Your Weekend: Your Reset is Non-Negotiable

Stop the Grind, Start the Reset.

Own Your Weekend

We see you, Community Leaders. The truth is, many managers live in perpetual Sunday Scaries because they never truly disconnect. The urge to check email, follow up on that Friday fire, or prep for Monday's chaos is strong, but running at 100% all weekend means starting the week at 50%.

At PALN, we believe your mental and physical well-being are the most critical assets you manage. If you aren't 100%, neither will your weekly performance be. It's time to take your weekend back!

Three Tips to Reclaim Your Weekend (and Your Sanity):

  1. Set Your Professional Boundary: You must train your clients and Boards. Use a professional, auto-response email setting expectations: "Thank you for your email. Our office hours are Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM. All matters are addressed during business hours. For actual, verifiable emergencies (e.g., fire, flood, active safety hazard), please contact the emergency line at [Number]." Stick to it!

  2. Schedule the Disconnect: Don't just "try" to rest; schedule it. Dedicate 30 minutes on Friday afternoon to close all tabs, write down Monday's Top 3 priorities, and turn off notifications. Physically put your work phone and laptop out of sight until Monday morning.

  3. Find Your Power-Reset: Resetting isn't just about sitting still—it’s about changing your focus. Choose activities that demand your attention away from work: exercise, deep cleaning, visiting a museum, or simply spending uninterrupted time with loved ones. Return to the office on Monday feeling energized and ready to operate with maximum professional fortitude.

Your well-being isn't a luxury; it’s the foundation of your leadership. Own your weekend.
